Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
DocByInk("we", "us", or "our") operates https://dockbyink.com and related services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.
By using DocByInk, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Who we are
DocByInk is an India-focused document creation platform. We provide handcrafted document templates (resume, biodata, invoice, and more) and client-side PDF tools (merge, compress, sign, edit, and convert).
For privacy-related questions, contact us at contact.dockbyink@gmail.com or call +91 8530956331.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials managed by our identity provider. We do not store your password in plain text.
2.2 Document content you enter
When you use our document builders, you may enter personal and professional information such as your name, contact details, address, education, work experience, family details, business information, invoice line items, photos, and other fields required by the template you choose.
2.3 Payment information
Paid PDF exports are processed by Razorpay. We receive payment status, order identifiers, and transaction metadata. We do not receive or store your full card number, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials.
2.4 Technical and usage information
Our hosting provider may log standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and reliability. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy before collecting non-essential tracking data.
3. Where your data is stored
3.1 Your browser (local storage)
All document builders auto-save drafts in your browser's localStorage by default. This includes form values, enabled sections, selected template variant, and language preference where applicable. You can use builders without signing in.
3.2 Optional cloud sync (signed-in users)
If you sign in and cloud storage is enabled on our platform, your document drafts may be synced to our database provider (Supabase) so you can access them from My Documents on another device. Cloud sync supports all eight document types: resume, cover letter, personal biodata, marriage biodata, invoice, quotation, GST letter, and ID card.
3.3 Version history
When cloud sync is active, we may store version snapshots of your document drafts to let you view history and revert to earlier saves. Versions are tied to your account and protected by database access rules.
3.4 Export unlock and session handoff
After a successful paid export, a short-term unlock record is stored in your browser's localStorage so you can re-download the same export within seven days. A temporary handoff record may be stored in sessionStorage so you can open PDF Tools in the same browser session without re-uploading your file.
3.5 PDF Tools — files stay on your device
PDF Tools (merge, compress, sign, edit, convert, and related features) run entirely in your browser. PDF files you select are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our servers for processing.
4. Photos and file uploads
For biodata and ID card templates, you may upload a photo (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 2 MB). Photos are processed in your browser, embedded into your document preview, and included in PDFs generated on your device. Photos are not uploaded to our servers as separate image files.
If you use cloud sync, photo data may be stored inside your document draft JSON in our database because it is part of the saved document payload.
5. How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Provide document creation, preview, export, and PDF tool features
- Authenticate your account and sync documents when you sign in
- Process payments and confirm export unlock status
- Respond to support requests and resolve payment disputes
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your document content to train AI models.
6. Payments
Clean PDF exports are priced at ₹89 per export (not a recurring subscription). Checkout is handled by Razorpay. By paying, you authorize Razorpay to process your payment method according to their terms.
Refund eligibility is described in our Refund Policy.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, session management, draft auto-save, and export unlock state. Details are in our Cookie Policy.
8. Third-party service providers
We rely on trusted providers to operate DocByInk:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and cloud document storage
- Razorpay — payment processing
- Vercel — website hosting and delivery
These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
9. Data retention
Browser-stored drafts remain on your device until you clear site data or uninstall your browser profile. Cloud-stored documents and version history remain until you delete them or request account deletion.
Payment and support records may be retained for a reasonable period to meet accounting, dispute resolution, and legal requirements.
To request deletion of your account and cloud data, email contact.dockbyink@gmail.com from your registered email address. We will verify your request before deletion.
10. Your rights (India)
Under applicable Indian law, including principles aligned with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal data we process and why
- Request correction of inaccurate account information
- Request deletion of your account and associated cloud data
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Lodge a complaint with us before pursuing other remedies
To exercise these rights, contact contact.dockbyink@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
11. Children's privacy
DocByInk is intended for users who can lawfully enter into agreements under Indian law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided us data without consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Security
We use HTTPS for data in transit, authenticated access for accounts, and database row-level security so users can access only their own cloud documents. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for securing devices where you store exported PDFs.
13. International data transfers
Our infrastructure providers may process data in India or other countries where they operate data centers. When data is transferred outside India, we rely on contractual safeguards offered by those providers and applicable law.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be announced on the website or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
